Would you like to learn more about my Spanish tutoring services? Check out some of the most common questions that students have asked. If you don’t find an answer you’re looking for, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
Should I have 1:1 lessons or join a group?
1:1 lessons offer personalised attention, faster progress and flexible scheduling. I will plan a tailored progression with you.
Small group classes are for social learners who want to build conversational skills and confidence, enjoy group activities, and are more affordable. Why not take as a hobby that allows you to meet new people.
How often do I need to have a lesson?
With one to one lessons, ideally at least 1 hour once a week to keep good study habits and get feedback on your progress with the language.
Adults group classes are scheduled once a week and you sign up for a block. Kids After School Clubs are scheduled once a week and you sign up for a term block (within school term).
What are the payment options?
You can pay by bank transfer. Cash is accepted in face-to-face lessons if you don't do online banking.
Private lessons have to be paid 24hr before. Some students prefer to purchase a block of 4 lessons in advance because it is more convenient.
Group classes are paid in advance in blocks.
Can I cancel a lesson?
You can cancel a private lesson if you give notice up to 24 hours before. If it's paid in advance, we will reschedule. If you don't cancel it at least 24h in advance, lesson payment will be due.
Please note that group club/course cancellations are not refundable. Don't worry if you or your child misses a class though, I can send you the work to do at home.
If I need to cancel the lesson, I will reschedule it or refund the money.
Do you work with a book or any specific material? Do I need to buy books?
No. I usually work with a combination of my material, tailored to my student's requirements, and texts and exercises from various sources.
Do you assign homework?
Yes, but this is up to the student. I would recommend doing some homework weekly as your Spanish won't improve as quickly as you might like without regular revision of what we covered in class.
Do you hold a PVG disclosure?
Yes, I have a Protecting Vulnerable Groups membership.
